Common App通用申请新变革

      通用申请Common Application，简称Common App, 一个用于申请美国517所高等院校（包括47个州和华盛顿特区）、奥地利、法国、德国、意大利、瑞士、英国等海外国家以及中国大陆部分中外合作高校的应用网站。它的使命是帮助申请人（包括美国本土和国际申请人）一次性、一站式地进行原本繁琐的大学申请流程（如提交高中成绩单、推荐信以及文书等）。它倡导全面评估申请人的成就和潜力，平衡了主观（如留学文书，推荐信，课外活动）与客观（如GPA，SAT/ACT/TOEFL成绩）考察因素。

       作为美国本科申请的主流平台，每年，Common Application都会针对大学申请的各种新趋势和需求进行功能上的升级。下面随小编一起来看看最新升级的Common App有哪些与小伙伴们息息相关的新增功能吧！

       1.自主提交课程和成绩单

       这项功能对国际学生会有很大的帮助，因为这会极大地避免国际学生提交格式不正确的成绩单。对于学生们来说，可以不用操心这些繁杂的手续，而能更专注于完善自己的申请内容。而对于大学招生办来说，学生的成绩呈现形式更统一，一目了然。

       今年有7所院校正式接受学生自主提交课程与成绩单：

       2.导师和推荐人

       学生可以邀请校外资源来帮助自己申请，比如校外的申请顾问、独立咨询顾问及社区组织CBO（Community-Based Organizations）。这些人和校内升学顾问一样，能够在Common App中直接管理、查看学生申请进度。

       3.主文书题目有变动

       文书部分是由原来的5个题目增加为7个题目，而原有的5个题目，其中第（2）、（3）、（5）个题目有变动，第（6）、（7）为新增题目，字数限制仍是650字。

       文书题目：

       （1）Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.

       （2）The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?

       原题目The lessons we take from failure can be fundamental to later success. Recount an incident or time when you experienced failure. How did it affect you, and what lessons did you learn?

       （3）Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What prompted your thinking？What was the outcome？

       （4）Describe a problem you've solved or a problem you'd like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma - anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution.

       （5）Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.

       原题目Discuss an accomplishment or event, formal or informal, that marked your transition from childhood to adulthood within your culture, community, or family.

       （6）Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?

       （7）Share an essay on any topic of your choice. It can be one you've already written, one that responds to a different prompt, or one of your own design.
